A movement of prayer for Northampton & beyond.
The starting point for all significant works of God is prayer. It is here that we have an opportunity to interact with the Spirit of God and participate in the redemption of our communities and the healing in our lives.
Whether you’re completely new and wondering what praying together can mean, or you feel like you’re more experienced we’d love to welcome you.
It may be that you feel called to start a prayer gathering of your own, or you have some ideas about additional ways we can gather and pray – if that’s you we encourage you to get in touch with us, either by dropping us an e-mail at prayer@centralvineyard.co.uk or speak to one of the team on a Sunday morning.
Sunday mornings
10am - 10.20am
Join us in the snug (behind the main worship area) before the service as we gather to pray for the Sunday morning service, all those who are serving, our church family, those visiting and our town.
This is a time to come before the Lord and invite His presence to be with us we worship together with our Central Vineyard family, friends and visitors. We aim to finish by 10:20 so there is always time to grab a coffee and say hello before the service begins at 10:30am.
Monday Lunchtime
1pm - 2pm
Come along to this one-hour timeslot on a Monday afternoon in the snug with Moira and Deborah. This is a time to pray for our town, our church, and to seek the Lord’s face together for Northampton and our communities.
We’ll start at 1pm, and finish at 2pm. Why not take a late lunch and pop along for some or all of the hour.
Friday Mornings
7am - 7.30am
Join us for half an hour every Friday morning at 7am. Why not grab a coffee, and join him on zoom? What a way to end the week and kick off your Friday morning.
We finish by 7:30am, in time for you to get on with whatever your Friday holds – work, school run, or something else. This is the only gathering with a zoom option

First Friday of the month
7.45pm - 9.30pm
The Upper Room is our monthly prayer gathering, starting at 7:45pm and ending at 9:30pm. Get a drink in the lounge and then join us in the main worship area as our worship band leads us into God’s presence and we worship God and pray for our church and town. As we gather for an extended time to worship and pray, we are reminded of the biblical story of the Upper Room where Jesus gathered with his disciples before his death and resurrection. It was a place of intimacy and fellowship, and it is in this spirit that we come together.
Our Upper Room sessions look different to our Sunday mornings, with the band in the centre, the lights turned down low and the Spirit turning up! There’s space to sit, stand or move around as you feel and experience God’s presence in a powerful way. We believe that when believers come together in prayer, God moves in powerful ways, and we are excited to see what he will do in and through us.
Friday, every other month, two weeks after the Upper Room
Every other month, two weeks after the Upper Room, we set aside a Friday evening for Encounter. We believe it is part of the Kingdom of God to see healings happen and spiritual gifts used. Encounter is a time and place for people to come and receive prayer.
There is a team of people available, trained in ministering to others, so come and encounter God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Encounter evenings also provide an opportunity for you to grow in confidence in praying for other. Occasionally there will be a brief training, but most of what you’ll learn is from others as you watch what they do and then have a go yourself.
